可利用壓縮試驗測試樣品的整體結構及表面粘性，適用於各種柔軟且具回復性樣品如泥塊、粘土、橡皮泥等，可得到其硬度（Hardness）、回復性（Resilience）、黏性(Stickiness)等參數

Cylinder probes are used for compression, puncture and penetration tests on mud block, clay and plasticine to provide an index of Hardness, Firmness or Toughness. During a puncture test both compressive and shear forces are measured. Results can also identify viscoelastic creep, compliance, stress relaxation, plasticity and viscosity.
