片劑的強度取決於其輔料的種類、配比以及壓片的工藝。足夠的強度可以保證片劑在加工和運輸過程中保持完整。但過大的強度，也可能造成片劑在服用後不易崩解釋放。透過壓縮測試可測試初始模量(Initial Modulus)、破裂強度(Rupture Strength) 及脆性（Brittleness）等特性。

The physical property tester (physical property analyzer, texture analyzer) can record the change of stress in the whole process of film crushing. Compared with general hardness instruments, the initial modulus and fracture work value can also be obtained to provide more comprehensive information of samples.
